Is Sisel right for you if you've never done network marketing before?
Is Sisel right for you if you've never done network marketing before?
By Katie Larking — Sisel 5 Star Master, Nutrition Coach, Melbourne
One of the most common things I hear from people who are curious about Sisel is some version of: "I'm interested, but I've never done anything like this before — is it really for someone like me?"
It's a fair question. And the honest answer might surprise you.
Most people who succeed here had no network marketing experience
When I look at the people I've helped build with Sisel over the past 14 years, the ones with prior network marketing experience are actually in the minority. The majority came in completely fresh — no downline history, no sales background, no idea how a compensation plan worked.
What they did have was genuine enthusiasm for the products, a willingness to learn, and the patience to build something over time rather than expecting results overnight.
That combination turns out to matter far more than experience.
What prior experience actually gets you
If you've done network marketing before, you probably have a head start on two things: understanding how compensation plans work, and being comfortable talking to people about a product opportunity without feeling awkward.
Both of those things are learnable. Neither requires years of experience. And frankly, some people with prior network marketing experience bring baggage with them — habits from less reputable companies, a pitchy communication style that puts people off, or cynicism from previous ventures that didn't deliver.
A clean slate is sometimes an advantage.
What actually matters — and what you probably already have
The qualities that determine whether someone succeeds with Sisel have nothing to do with their CV. They are:
Genuine belief in the products
This is non-negotiable. If you're not genuinely impressed by what the products do for you personally, you will not be able to share them authentically — and authenticity is the only thing that works in a model built entirely on personal recommendation. The good news: the products are exceptional. Most people who start using them consistently develop genuine enthusiasm relatively quickly.
Comfort with honest conversation
You don't need to be a salesperson. You need to be comfortable saying "I've been using these products and I've noticed a real difference — thought of you because you mentioned wanting more energy" and then letting the other person decide. That's a normal human conversation, not a sales pitch. Most people can do that.
Patience with the build
This isn't a business that pays you in week one. It builds over months — typically three to six months to reach the first meaningful milestone of One Star Master. If you're looking for quick money, this isn't it. If you're building something that compounds over time and eventually covers your health costs without ongoing effort, this is exactly it.
Consistency over intensity
Small, consistent actions every week outperform big sporadic pushes every time in this model. One genuine conversation a week, one follow-up, one post — done consistently over six months — builds something real. The people who burn out are almost always the ones who go hard for a fortnight and then stop entirely.
The one thing that disqualifies people — and it's not inexperience
In 14 years, the people I've seen struggle weren't the inexperienced ones. They were the ones who weren't genuinely interested in the products. People who signed up primarily for the income opportunity, who ordered products they didn't really use, and who tried to share something they couldn't speak about honestly.
The model doesn't work without the product foundation. That's not a flaw — it's actually what makes it trustworthy. If you wouldn't buy these products regardless of the business opportunity, that's important information worth sitting with before you start.
A word on the "MLM" concern
Many people with no prior network marketing experience come in with one specific worry: they don't want to be seen as "one of those MLM people." They've seen pushy posts on social media, been cornered at parties, and they want nothing to do with that.
That's a legitimate concern — and the right response to it is to simply not do those things. The model we use is built on honest, personal recommendation. No cold pitching strangers. No spammy social posts. No pressure. Just genuine enthusiasm for products that work, shared with people who already know and trust you.
If you do it that way, nobody will see you as "one of those people." They'll just see someone who found something good and wanted to share it.
So — is it right for someone with no experience?
Yes. With one condition: you need to actually love the products.
If you start with genuine enthusiasm for what Sisel makes — and that enthusiasm is grounded in your real experience of using them — the rest is learnable. The compensation plan can be explained. The sharing skills develop with practice. The network grows one person at a time.
Experience helps at the margins. Belief in the products is what carries you through.
Ready to find out if it's right for you?
The best first step isn't signing up for the business. It's trying the products. Start there — let the experience speak for itself — and then decide.
