Clean label wellness: what makes these products different from what's at the chemist?

Walk into any chemist or supermarket and you'll find shelves of supplements and wellness products. So why do people choose Sisel products specifically — and pay more for them? This post gives an honest answer.

The clean label difference

Clean label refers to products with transparent ingredient lists — no artificial fillers, no unnecessary additives, no ingredients you need a chemistry degree to recognise. Sisel's positioning is built around this principle: products that contain what they say they contain, at the levels they say they contain it.

Why does this matter?

Because the supplement industry is largely unregulated when it comes to what's actually in a product versus what's on the label. Third-party testing has repeatedly shown that many mass-market supplements contain significantly less of the active ingredient than stated — or contain contaminants the label doesn't mention.

If you're spending money on wellness products expecting a specific result, the product needs to actually contain the ingredient at the level that delivers that result. That sounds obvious. It's less common than you'd expect.

What this means in practice

Sisel products generally cost more than their mass-market equivalents. That's not a flaw — it's a reflection of what goes into them. The relevant comparison isn't price per unit; it's value delivered per dollar spent. A cheaper product that doesn't work is expensive. A more expensive product that delivers consistent results is value.

A note on doing your own research

Don't take anyone's word for it, including ours. Look at the ingredient lists. Compare them. Ask questions. The products should be able to stand up to scrutiny — and if they're working for you, you'll know.
